 Walking Around Livestock

For all those people with concerns regarding sharing the local walks with cattle, there is a useful page on the Ramblers web site that gives advice on how to behave around them. Follow the link below.

Ramblers Advice - Walking Near Livestock

Typically the cows are in Lardon Chase and the Holies from the end of May to the end of November. If you have any concerns about livestock in these meadows, the grazier is Chris Hicks. He can be contacted on 07759 480002 or 01491 681006.

Accessible By Train - New leaflet available

MIGGS (Mobility Issues Group for Goring and Streatley) have lobbied successfully for passenger lifts and other accessibility improvements at Goring and Streatley station, with the aim of making mobility impaired visitors welcome.

MIGGS approached Great Western Railway and Goring parish council for cash support to produce a leaflet to attract disabled visitors, and both have agreed. The North Wessex Downs and Chilterns AONBs and National Trails are all keen to attract and accommodate disabled visitors, and have cooperated in the production of the leaflet. All three bodies are improving accessibility on both sides of the river to help attract both disabled visitors and the able bodied.

The leaflet can be downloaded by following the link below.
